It's a classic a grew up with and now my daughter has it.
I purchased it for a baby gift and it is part of the Beatrix Potter series (which I love). It was part of a gift registry request. I'm sure the new mother will be happy with her gift for baby!
This is a wonderful children's book that is beginner's etiquette - for children. Every child I have ever read it to is enthralled with the story and the pictures. One of my all-time favorites! Beatrix Potter is just pretty unbeatable.
Love Beatrix Potter and there are so many lovely books that you just can't find in the stores
This reprinting of a lesser known Beatrix Potter classic is gorgeous. Smaller than a normal children's hardcover book, it does not lack any of the quality of the larger volumes. The detail is wonderful, even down to the dust jacket.

Lovely Beatrix Potter illustrations with a lesson in kindness.
We've been reading Beatrix Potter to our infant at bedtime - I'm not sure that she appreciates the books as much as her father and I do (illustrations are small and subdued). The story is seriously funny - almost deadpan at some points - and I love the illustrations of the fierce bad rabbit. I also read this to a 6 year old visitor to our place and she didn't seem overly impressed. In sum, only time will tell whether our daughter will grow to love Potter but we certainly are enjoying ourselves.
